Are you passionate about investigating the complex intersections of media, state-affiliated entities, and influence operations? We are seeking an experienced Intelligence Analyst to help identify and research the activities of entities connected to state-affiliated media outlets and commercial services. You'll work closely with intelligence analysts, policy experts, and operational stakeholders to identify influence activities and develop innovative solutions through policy and product initiatives.

Research Analyst (Geopolitical & Influence Research)
Washington, DC
12 Month contract w/ potential extension of up to 24 months

$40-$42/hour + medical/dental/vision insurance, 401K planning, weekly pay & 15 days of PTO/year.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct open-source research and digital investigations to identify entities connected to state-affiliated media and overt influence operations.
  • Collaborate with policy, partnership, and operational teams to address issues surrounding geopolitical influence and platform misuse.
  • Research media publishers, including state-controlled outlets, and analyze covert and overt influence networks using internal tools and SQL queries.
  • Investigate commercial entities potentially violating platform policies and engage in research to support policy enforcement.
  • Work with product teams to identify opportunities for leveraging intelligence to enhance platform safety.

Qualifications:
  • Experience conducting open-source research and digital investigations.
  • Proficiency with analytical tools such as SQL and Python.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively across teams.
  • Ability to draw conclusions from data and provide actionable insights.
  • Familiarity with geopolitical issues, political analysis, and influence operations.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and thrive in a team-oriented environment.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with covert and overt influence operations.
  • Knowledge of commercial due diligence processes and network analysis.
  • Familiarity with tools like Lexis Nexis or similar research databases.
  • Experience producing and delivering threat intelligence reports.
