Job Summary

The Research and Development Technician supports scientists in testing new ingredients and developing beverage models while ensuring all activities adhere to Client's safety protocols. 

This role involves accurately preparing samples, managing production runs, and coordinating laboratory operations.




Key Responsibilities
  • Perform all activities in compliance with Client's safety protocols.
  • Assist scientists in testing new ingredients and developing beverage models.
  • Accurately prepare beverages and samples for experimentation.
  • Schedule production runs in the technical center.
  • Acquire necessary ingredients and packaging for experiments.
  • Coordinate the production and storage of samples.
  • Submit samples for analytical or sensory testing.
  • Maintain and document laboratory inventory.
  • Coordinate the shipping of samples and ingredients.
  • Responsible for the maintenance and calibration of laboratory and pilot laboratory equipment.




Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in a scientific field.




Preferred Qualifications
  • Laboratory bench work experience in school or industry (experience in the food and beverage industry is a plus).
  • Familiarity with common lab analytical instruments and beverage processing equipment.




Physical Requirements
  • Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
  • Work Schedule
  • Position starts as 32 hours per week, 4 days.




Key Challenges
  • Manage and learn a wide variety of product characteristics, including cold-filled and various thermal processes (low acid retort, aseptic, and ESL) beverages.
  • Handle multiple project tasks to support team members, effectively managing time and expectations.
  • Maintain a laboratory environment, ensuring the proper functioning of equipment, ingredients, and raw materials.
  • Prioritize and maintain strong working relationships with various partners within NACP.
