The USD Sanford School of Medicine (SSOM) Center for Rural Health Improvement (CRHI) is hiring a Research and Evaluation Scientist. The Research and Evaluation Scientist will be responsible for taking the lead in development and implementation of a comprehensive portfolio of applied research, contracts, projects, grants, and other community facing projects for the Center for Rural Health Improvement (CRHI) which proliferates the SSOM scope of work in the Social Determinants of Health.
The scope of work will include, but is not limited to writing and executing proposals/manuscripts and other reports as directed by the portfolio of CRHI, working with internal and external stakeholders to support data, research, and project functions, lead grant-writing and evaluation for the SD Area Health Education Center (AHEC) Program Office, assist in leading the expansion and maintenance of CRHI portfolio, lead the research related pieces of the CRHI portfolio, execute other related deliverables from contracts/grants as necessary, work with staff and students to further research experience, and assist the Director of CRHI as needed. Understanding of and experience with research methods, statistical analyses, evaluation, the ability to use a variety of statistical analysis packages (STATA, SPSS, Excel, or other relevant statistical packages), and capabilities with data management reflects what is needed to be successful.
Master's degree is required, PhD is preferred with 3-5 years of related experience.
This position requires agility and flexibility to manage various projects at one time and may require learning a new topic area. There will be other duties as assigned to assist in the operations of CRHI.
This position is grant/contract funded.
