Job Description

The Yu lab focuses on developing advanced biomaterials for drug delivery and bone, cartilage, vascular, and nerve tissue regeneration. The lab is seeking a Research Assistant to help carry out experiments related to these scientific goals. The main duties of this position include, but are not limited to assisting with polymer synthesis and purification, scaffold fabrication, material characterization, cell culture, and animal studies. Additional responsibilities will include:
  • Training new lab members
  • Overseeing lab safety
  • Assisting with supply and equipment ordering.

Requirements for the position include the ability to work well with others, follow written instructions, ask questions, pay attention to detail, maintain a professional attitude, and demonstrate punctuality and reliability.

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree*

* Finalists will be asked to provide their Bachelor's degree transcripts which reflect the required degree for determination of position title

Preferred Qualifications

• Candidates will be evaluated on Bachelor's degree in a field related to Biomaterials, such as Biomedical Engineering, Materials Science and Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Biology

Candidates should have wet laboratory experience, preferably with biomaterials for drug delivery and tissue engineering

Great organizational and computers skills, including the ability to use Excel, Word, PowerPoint and email
