Job Summary

Conduct research, including working with investigators to define the research problem, prepare a protocol for IRB submission, prepare data collection instruments, conduct statistical analysis and prepare manuscripts for publication. The position requires that the individual be able to perform the research without supervision.

Responsibilities

• Conducting duties associated with the function of research. • Organize techniques and procedures for accomplishing objectives of research projects, including consultation with Project Director (PD)/Principal Investigator (PI). • Assist with development of plans and study guidelines for projects prepared by health care professionals and researchers. • Conduct review of recent literature utilizing Internet and Med Line and Pub Med databases, screen and summarize information for PD/PI to use in research projects. • Independently make recommendations to PD/PI based on observation, compilation, and evaluation of significance of research data gathered for each project. • Assist with IRB applications and sponsored project approval forms for (PD)/PI. • Make recommendations regarding equipment, instruments and supplies needed for each project and maintain adequate inventory of supplies and purchases for the assigned project. • Assist the PD/PI in the development of research methodology and study/project flow. • Work with research assistants and students/interns/externs regarding research projects for degree requirements. • Identify data source(s), collects data and analyzes as directed. • Work with PD/PI to develop research questionnaires and data gathering techniques. • Conduct field-based research utilizing qualitative interviewing and quantitative data collection methods. • Data entry for current projects utilizing scanning software. • Utilize Excel, Access, Stat Xact, Statistical and SAS for data cleaning and analysis and graphing. • Discuss findings with other project personnel to evaluate validity of findings. • Prepare reports of completed projects for publication in journals, for presentation to agency requesting project, or for use in further applied or theoretical research activities. • Prepare quarterly reports in the area of inpatient/outpatient and employee satisfaction, performance improvement and quality improvement for administration to utilize and execute changes in current system. • Assist with the development of grant applications. • Participate in community organizations and events i.e.., health related coalitions and conferences.

Education

• Master's Degree (Required) Experience: 5-7 years in related area of research
