Research Data Specialist I - Hybrid Telework

This limited term position may be extended up to 24 months and has the possibility of becoming permanent.
Under general direction of the Staff Services Manager lI in the Data Evaluation & Innovation Section, within the Evaluation & Data Innovation Branch, the Research Data Specialist l will work independently and provide expert guidance on specialized and complex projects involving intense investigation into Department of State Hospitals (DSH) data. The incumbent will function as the Subject Matter Expert on the re-evaluation services program as well as other DSH program data and will be lead on data tracking. Areas will include developing and refining methodologies for data collection, data cleaning, and ongoing reconciliation for reports issued on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis, conducting research involving patient level data and preparing formal reports and presentations to management. Duties require regular collaboration and coordination with executive management, DSH facility staff and Sacramento based staff.

Working Conditions

• DSH-Sacramento is located at a new 11 floor high rise building.
• This position is physically located in Sacramento and is currently offered with the potential for a hybrid work environment. Consistent with Policy Directive 5338, Telework may be considered with prior approval from management. If approved, incumbent is expected to report to work at the Allenby building at least twice per week, as directed by their supervisor. Travel throughout California site visits, including overnight travel, to DSH partnered treatment facilities will be required with prior notice.
