Insight Global is hiring for a skilled and motivated Research Engineer, to develop and apply state-of-the-art self-supervised learning techniques for wristband/hand-based inputs. The ideal candidate would have a signal processing background with experience in both CV and time series data preprocessing and modeling. More broadly, the chosen candidate will work with a diverse and highly interdisciplinary team of researchers and engineers and will have access to cutting edge technology, resources, and testing facilities.

Day to day:

* Data quality control, clean up, preprocessing and featurization

* Developing and applying state-of-the-art self-supervised learning algorithms to train and evaluate models

* Developing robust benchmarking workflows and pipelines for offline and online model performance evaluation

* Developing online learning algorithms that improve model accuracy in real-time

* Collaborating with research engineers and scientists on software platforms for data analysis and real-time human-system interactions

Regularly reporting on project status, delivering high-quality code with thorough documentation, and effectively communicating updates through presentations and written reports

Required Skills & Experience

* PhD with 3+ years of experience in Deep Learning, Robotics, Statistics, Computer Science, Signal Processing, or a related area

* Expertise within system integration and support for data collection in a research environment

* Proven track record of implementing Deep Learning pipelines and deploying models

* Experience with Python for back end infrastructure as well as JavaScript for occasional front end UI needs

* Experience working/interfacing with multiple hardware devices synchronously, ideally novel devices or early stage prototypes

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

* Experience with online and offline signal processing of biological time series data and sensor-fusion techniques

* Familiarity with AR/VR technologies and literature

* Experience with multi-task learning, few-shot learning, semi-supervised learning

Experience applying machine learning or other signal processing techniques to noisy sensor data in real-time, interactive applications (e.g., IMU, cameras, EMG)
