The laboratory of Dr. Levi N. Kanu of Schepens Eye Research Institute at Massachusetts Eye and Ear is seeking a full-time Postdoctoral Associate for the development and optimization of an ocular drug delivery systems for corneal wound healing.
Duties: The postdoctoral associate will be involved in the formulation, development, optimization, and testing of ocular drug delivery systems. Physicochemical characterization, in vitro and in vivo efficacy testing will be essential in bringing the ocular drug delivery devices to first-in-human clinical trials. The postdoctoral associate will author scientific manuscripts, lead grant writing efforts, and present at field-specific conferences.
Qualifications
PhD preferably in Chemical Engineering, Pharmaceutics, or related field. Strong knowledge of polymer science and engineering required. Analytical chemistry experience with FTIR, NMR and HPLC strongly preferred. Experience with extracellular vesicles is a plus. Prior work with sustained drug delivery systems preferred. Meticulous attention to detail, good communication skills, and outstanding organizational skills required.
