The Waldor Lab at Harvard Medical School and the Brigham and Women's Hospital studies bacterial pathogenesis with an emphasis on applying next-generation sequencing technologies to decipher various aspects of host-pathogen biology. We are seeking a Research Lab Tech to assist with various tasks in the lab. These include:

1) Mouse colony management

2) Assistance with next generation sequencing experiments

3) Administrative tasks such as instrument maintenance and ordering supplie

4) Project-specific experiment

We encourage the candidate to bring their own ideas and enthusiasm to projects in the lab. After training for job-specific tasks, we anticipate that the candidate will help design and execute experiments for projects that they are interested in as well as independently pursue new areas of exploration.

Qualifications

Basic Qualification

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • New graduate with relevant course or project work
  • Attention to detail, accurate recordkeeping, and effective communication are required.


Additional Qualifications and Skill

  • Prior experience with general laboratory techniques and handling mice is preferred but not necessary.
  • We encourage candidates without laboratory experience to apply, as we will provide ample training for all tasks and experimental procedures, particularly in preclinical infectious disease models, molecular biology, and genomics.

We anticipate the appointment to last at least two year
