Working independently, under general supervision from Dr. Bueno, Dr. Khalil, and Senior Research Manager, the Research Lab Tech I executes protocols involving a variety of routine and non-routine experiments at a professional level. May identify new techniques. Develops modification of existing techniques, as appropriate. In collaboration with other members of the research team, gives input to the development of design protocols.

  • Responsible for data collection, management, manipulation, analysis, and reporting
  • Independently performs routine and non-routine experiments which are moderate to complex. Experiments may include specific assays, such as tissue culture, PCR, Real-Time PCR, nucleic acid extraction.
  • Performs literature searches and helps to prepare presentations and written articles for publication.
  • In collaboration with PI or Senior Research Manager, establishes new and modifies existing research techniques.
  • Coordinates lab activities such as bio-safety activities, ordering activities, general organization of the lab.
  • • All other duties as assigned.


Qualifications

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BS OR BA
  • New graduate with relevant course or project work


Must be well-organized and detail-oriented with good computer skills. Time-management, multitasking and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced, developing organization are essential.

• Careful attention to detail

• Good interpersonal and communication skill

• Ability to demonstrate professionalism

• Computer literacy

• Working knowledge of research protocol

• Wet lab experience including but not limited to histological staining and image analysi

• Basic statistics knowledge required. Experience in R or R studio preferred

• Strong Excel skill
