Job Summary

Conducts research to improve clinical and patient outcomes. Applies knowledge and skills from advanced clinical practice, and/or health sciences research to provide health professionals with consultative and supportive services for research, research utilization, and quality improvement studies.

Responsibilities

• Support the mission of CAMC pertinent to quality improvement, education, and research initiatives. • Facilitate and conduct research initiatives in pursuit of the Institute and organizational missions. • Participate in research education. • Develop a climate to enhance collaboration among administrators, clinicians, and researchers. • Develop research protocols and conduct studies in designated areas of clinical and community-based research. • Identify and obtain external sources of funding for research by soliciting appropriate RFP/RFA at the local, state, and national levels; secure and fulfill contractual services on behalf of the Institute. • Participate in developing and promoting the designated Center as a recognized research center of excellence. • Encourage, promote, and participate in the presentation and publication of research. • Participate in professional and community activities related to health care research. • Maintain expertise through current literature, continuing education, networking and other professional efforts.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Patient Group Knowledge (Only applies to positions with direct patient contact) The employee must possess/obtain (by the end of the orientation period) and demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide developmentally appropriate assessment, treatment or care as defined by the department's identified patient ages. Specifically the employee must be able to demonstrate competency in: 1) ability to obtain and interpret information in terms of patient needs; 2) knowledge of growth and development; and 3) understanding of the range of treatment needed by the patients. Competency Statement Must demonstrate competency through an initial orientation and ongoing competency validation to independently perform tasks and additional duties as specified in the job description and the unit/department specific competency checklist. Perform work in alignment with the overall mission and strategic plan of the organization. 8. Follow organizational and departmental policies and procedures, as applicable. 9. Perform related duties as assigned.

Education

• Doctorate Degree (Required)

Experience: 3 years professional and research experience in designated area.
