The University of Pittsburgh Department of Immunology is seeking a qualified Research Scientist, Ph.D. Required.

This is a lead scientist position to develop novel approaches to manipulate gene expression in lymphocytes in the Mark Shlomchik lab. Currently three major projects, funded by the NIH, would rely on these technologies to further advance the work. The incumbent in this position will evaluate, plan, and test multiple approaches to targeting various B cell (and possibly T cell) types, including CRISPR-based, shRNA, and Cre-based.

This entails executing major aspects of the project including high level data interpretation/presentation, report writing, and integrating biological data. Must have extensive experience with a wide variety of immunological and gene engineering techniques, including in vivo mouse work, bone marrow chimeras, retroviral engineering and infection, retrogenic mice, in vitro cultures, molecular cloning, B cell functional assays, multiparameter flow cytometry, and genomic analysis.
