The Department of Public Health Sciences (PHS) seeks a Senior Research Specialist position.

The successful candidate will work closely with Dr. Matthew Gurka , new Chair of PHS, as well as other investigators and project staff in the PHS department. Research experiences will span a number of initiatives across different areas of research, with a specific emphasis on maternal and child health research. The candidate will be expected to manage a research program spanning multiple disciplines and departments. The candidate can expect to participate in various types of research, such as lifestyle interventions, disparities research, community-based participatory research, implementation science, and general interdisciplinary team science.

Minimum Requirements:

• Master's degree in public health, clinical research, behavioral sciences, health sciences, psychology, sociology or related field,
  
• Five years of specialized experience.
  

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working on federally or industry-funded research trials.
  
• Must have a strong interest and experience in community-based research and working with at-risk and diverse communities.
  
• Interest in translational science and working with a multidisciplinary team of scientists.
  
• Data management skills (e.g., REDCap).
  
• Experience with IRB protocols, data use agreements (DUAs), and other research administrative tasks.
  
• Outstanding written and oral communication skills.
  
• Creative, independent, and highly motivated, with the ability to interact professionally in both research and community environments.

This is a 12-month appointment with the possibility of renewal contingent upon satisfactory performance and the availability of funding. Salary is commensurate with education and experience.
