Works under general supervision of Linglin Huang (Postdoctoral Research Fellow) at the Kuchroo Lab in the Department of Neurology; assits Linglin Huang and other lab members in data analysis.

Qualifications

PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. To assist and/or perform:

- bulk RNA-seq data analysis, including but not limited to preprocessing, quality control, differential expression analysis, gene set enrichment analysis.

- bulk ATAC-seq data analysis, including but not limited to preprocessing, quality control, peak calling, peak annotation, differential accessibility analysis, motif scan and enrichment analysis.

- single-cell sequencing data analysis, including but not limited to preprocessing, quality control, hashtag demultiplexing, clustering and annotation, differential expression analysis, trajectory analysis, cell-cell intereaction analysis, data visualization.

- Other statistical analyses.

3. To perform daily tasks:

- Attend lab meetings and department seminar

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Excellent interpersonal skills, excellent oral and written communication, excellent programming skills and etiquette, familiarity with bioinformatics tools and pipelines for high-throughput sequencing data analysis.

SKILLS/ABILITIES/COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:

• Ability to work well independently.

• Excellent interpersonal skills to be able to interact with a variety of people with different levels of understanding in statistics and computational biology.

• Strong team player and can communicate well within an interdisciplinary team.

• High level of organizational skills with strong attention to detail.

• Ability to search, learn and apply appropriate computational methods to answer questions of interest.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
