THIS IS A GRANT-FUNDED POSITION

JOB SUMMARY/ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: The Research Study Coordinator 2 assists the Primary Investigators (PIs) with qualitative data collection across the Mid-South (western Tennessee, eastern Arkansas, and northern Mississippi) and study management for a large industry-sponsored research grant. This position is responsible for independent data collection, collaborative data analysis with PIs, study participant follow-up, communication with study key personnel, and participation in dissemination of study findings.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Conducts in-depth interviews, focus groups, and ethnographic fieldwork while ensuring confidentiality and empathy.
  2. Tracks participants progress throughout the study and ensures compliance with required timelines and study protocols.
  3. Documents field observations accurately and manage audio/visual recordings from interviews or site visits.
  4. Prepares detailed field notes and manages transcription of audio-recorded interviews while upholding ethical standards.
  5. Codes participant data to de-identify subjects and maintain master linking files to protect participants' private information.
  6. Analyzes complex qualitative data through coding and thematic analysis to identify themes relating to patient experiences, barriers to care, and cultural factors influencing health outcomes.
  7. Collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to integrate qualitative findings with other research data.
  8. Disseminates findings through scholarly publications, reports, policy briefs, and presentations targeting both academic audiences and community stakeholders.
  9. Provides participants with compensation gift cards upon completion of data collection; disburses and tracks participant incentives.
  10. Ensures IRB submission and compliance.
  11. Schedules follow-up appointments as necessary according to study protocols.
  12. Performs other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

EDUCATION: Bachelor's Degree in Anthropology, Communication, Gender Studies, Psychology, Public Health, Sociology, Social Work, Women's Studies, or a related field. (TRANSCRIPT REQUIRED)

EXPERIENCE: Two (2) years of experience in qualitative research method and independent fieldwork/data collection; OR Master's Degree in lieu of experience; OR an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience to equal six (6) years. Must have a valid Driver's License with reliable transportation.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

  • Effective communication, writing, and public speaking skills.
  • Ability to prepare written material ensuring accurate and effective representation of study findings.


WORK SCHEDULE: This position may frequently be required to work weekends and evenings.
