Required Qualifications: (as evidenced by an attached resume)
Associate's Degree (foreign equivalent or higher). Two [2] years of full time experience directly related to the project or program.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in microscopic image analyses. Experience in field sampling coastal ecosystems. Experience in pigment analyses. Experience in microscopic quantification of plankton.

Brief Description of Duties:
The Research Technician will assist in the Gobler Laboratory, working with laboratory and field research focused on harmful algae blooms. They will assist with specific ongoing water quality monitoring and associated sample analysis. The selected candidate will be responsible for the following:
  • Perform experiments with harmful algae.
  • Perform field sampling of coastal ecosystems.
  • Perform image analysis of plankton samples.
  • Analyze data from image analyses. Compile reports and data.
  • Perform microscopic analyses of plankton samples.
  • Other duties as assigned.

The Research Foundation of SUNY is a private educational corporation. Employment is subject to the Research Foundation policies and procedures, sponsor guidelines and the availability of funding. FLSA Non Exempt position, eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA.

Evening and weekend work will be required at times.For this position, we are unable to sponsor candidates for work visas.
