Summary

Research technician will be in charge of multiple laboratory tasks that includes data collection from human participants in computerized task including keyboard and joystick inputs. Management and curation of data from these participants, as well as analyses of these data, including ANOVA, t-tests, GLM, and generativemodels, preparation and management of tissue samples for neuroanatomical analysis.

Technician will be responsible for maintaining code database for behavioral tasks. Tech will be responsible for programming and debugging new behavioral tasks. Tech will be responsible for collection of the appropriate data from these patients, that includes explaining the task and on-line debugging. Technician will work with pathologists to collect tissue samples from patients and animals models, and will manage preparation pipeline, including fixation, tissue slicing, histological mounting, and slide preparation. Tech will work closely with multiple laboratories, and will work with graduate students and post-docs in those laboratories to improve workflow and data analysis practices and will document results of experiments. Technician will also order laboratory supplies and equipment, and will select, evaluate, and apply techniques used in research. Technician will be expected to be an active participant in laboratory activities that includes journal clubs and seminars. Technician will also read and summarize scholarly literature.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a Basic Science or related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
  • No experience required.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Neuroscience or related field is a plus.
  • Programming experience, strong coding, especially in Matlab or Python is desired.
