Position Summary:

Under general direction of the PM&R Residency Program Director, the Residency Coordinator is responsible for the administration of the PM&R Residency Program and PM&R Spine Fellowship. Responsible for oversight of all daily operations including, but not limited to, the application, interview, selection, and re-appointment processes. Responsibilities also include short and long range planning of program needs and development and implementation of systems, processes, and procedures to meet program objectives.

Required:
  • 1-3 years of relevant work experience with a BA/BS or equivalent experience
  • Ability to organize a diverse workload, to prioritize projects, work independently and use initiative, organize and follow through with complex tasks and to establish strategies and action plans to achieve targeted objectives within set timeframes.
  • Skill to manage complex calendars and scheduling requests and to anticipate and coordinate all preparatory arrangements for meetings, seminars, conferences, and events.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to relate easily and effectively with people within and outside University, including both strong and written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to research, properly evaluates information, and prepares concise, well-organized reports, summaries, and correspondence.
  • Ability to design effective systems and procedures to handle a large volume of projects, incoming materials, and concurrent deadlines.
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills and the ability to compose letters, memoranda, and other documents using word-processing, spreadsheet, and database software.
  • Resourcefulness in finding appropriate solutions to problems and initiative in presenting alternatives and implementing solutions to ensure effective change.
  • Ability to anticipate problems and take necessary action to eliminate or mitigate potential negative effects.
  • Working knowledge of personal computers and proficiency utilizing standard software programs and information technology.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Proven ability to develop and run automated reports and tracking systems.
  • Knowledge of PC/Word processing, and basic computer systems.

Preferred:
  • Experience in Continuing Medical Education, University, and Medical Center policy and guidelines. -Knowledge of requirements for US and foreign graduates to enter a Medical Residency Program. -Knowledge of ACGME regulations and standards as they pertain to the residency program. Demonstrated experience in coordinating residency and fellowship programs. -Ability to develop slide presentations, use scanning, LCD projector and other wireless devices. -Experience working in an academic University environment. -Knowledge of UC academic appointment process. -Working knowledge of various University policies and procedures.
