Primary Responsibilities
The primary duties of the Resident Engineer are inspection of bridge construction activities, planning, scheduling and coordination of construction inspection, quality assurance inspections of bridge and transportation structure related work on projects, including foundations, falsework, temporary shoring, concrete, substructure and superstructure, coordination with contractor, other inspectors, surveyors and materials testers as well as documentation of the project progress. Responsible for maintaining accurate daily reports of construction site activity, field measurement for progress payment and produces required reports on progress, safety, quality, schedule and budget status. Coordinates with others for documentation for contractor progress pay estimates. Does calculations to support the technical aspects of the structure work including shoring, falsework and quantities.

The expected compensation range for this position is $86,009 - $128,455 annually depending upon skills, experience, education and geographical location.

Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- BS Civil Engineering Required
- Professional Engineering Registration in California required
- Construction management experience required.
- A minimum of 10 years' experience working in highway and structure construction inspection and management.
Preferred Qualifications
- Caltrans Highway and Bridge Construction Experience desired.
- Experience with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) required, Prolog, Primavera, etc. desired.
