The Resort Management Trainee program was designed to prepare trainees for an eventual role as a Hyatt leader, enabling them to learn and develop the skills needed to work in a leadership position successfully. On average, the length of time a RMT will spend training in hotel operations is six months. During that timeframe, the RMT will rotate through various departments of the hotel - F&B, Front Desk, Event Service, Housekeeping and Guest Experience. Training within each division provides a well-rounded experience for the RMT, assisting him/her in having a stronger understanding on how departments work together as a whole team.
An important objective of the Resort ManagementTrainee program is to teach and mentor new leaders. Once training is completed, the trainee will not only have learned job fundamentals from a hands-on approach, but will also have increased knowledge and experience with regard to leading others, effective communication, and coaching. There may be an emphasis on soft skills; such as empathy, which enables better teamwork and progressive relationships with the people they lead.
Overall, the goal is to prepare and then promote the Resort Management Traineeto an Assistant Manager level position once the training program is completed.
The starting salary for this position is $53,000. Actual pay will be commensurate with experience.
