We are seeking a RESPIRATORY THERAPIST who will work weekends between Aspirus Wausau and Stevens Point Hospitals on the night shift.

  • You will provide respiratory and cardiopulmonary monitoring, diagnostics, and therapy services under medical direction to patients in a variety of care environments.
  • Assists in orientation training of hospital staff, students and the public regarding respiratory disease and care.
  • Provides respiratory care to patients of all ages, including neonates, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients. Interprets patient information and understands treatment needs depending on the age of patients under care.
  • Whenever applicable, demonstrates understanding of the needs of specific age groups in terms of their physical and motor development, psychosocial development, and intellectual/language development.


EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS

  • Knowledge of respiratory care standards and protocols normally acquired through graduation from an AMA approved school of Respiratory Care with an Associate Degree.


LICENSURE

  • An active Wisconsin Respiratory Care Practitioner license required.
  • Registered RRT by the National Board of Respiratory Care, or registry eligible and obtained within one year of hire.
  • Current BLS certification or obtained within 90 days of hire.


HOURS

  • 0.6 part-time, 48 hours every 2 weeks working 12 hours shifts.
  • Weekend and Nights only (6:30pm to 7:00am)

We have a strong Assess and Treat and Ventilator management protocols, along with advanced practices such as Arterial Line placement and Intubation. We have Adult Medical and Cardiac ICUs and a Neonatal ICU. Our therapists are a part of our NICU transport team and support the busy Trauma Certified Emergency Department. We have a clinical ladder for those who qualify after 2 years of joining our team. We are a growing department and welcome new team members."
