Respiratory Therapist

Job Description

Provides respiratory therapy as prescribed by a Physician. Prepares, operates and maintains respiratory care equipment.

Job Responsibility

• Perform Pulmonary Function Testing- (Spirometry, Lung Volumes, Diffusion Capacity, Six Minute Walk Test, Exercise Testing)- experience preferred
• Perform Patient Assessment- Height, Weight, Heart Rate, Pulse Oximeter, Respiration as needed
• Obtain Patient Medical History and Current Complaint
• Perform Respiratory Therapy as needed- nebulizer treatment, suctioning, oxygen therapy
• Non-Invasive and Invasive Ventilation Management and Troubleshooting
• Provide Asthma Management and Education
• Provide Airway Clearance Management, Education and Research for Cystic Fibrosis Patients
• Answering Tasks from physician and family about respiratory therapy orders and equipment questions.
• Placing Respiratory Therapy and Equipment Order and Communicating with Durable Medical Equipment Company
• Confirming respiratory orders and equipment orders from DME company
• Maintain Office and Pulmonary Function Lab Protocols

Job Qualification

• Associate's Degree required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
• Current License to practice as a Respiratory Therapist in New York State, and Current Respiratory Therapist (NBRC) Certification in New York State required, plus specialized certifications as needed.
• 1-3 years of relevant experience, required.

The salary range for this position is $75,020-$126,250/year
