  • Since opening our doors in 1908, AdventHealth has offered one of the most comprehensive children's health programs in Central Florida. Today, we continue this legacy of pediatric excellence at the Magnet® recognized Walt Disney Pavilion at AdventHealth for Children. Our campus is home to over 35 pediatric sub-specialties led by a team of 800+ nurses and physicians.
  • We provide specialized care in various state-of-the-art settings, including a 102-bed Neonatal Intensive Care Unit with private family-centered rooms, an Advanced Center for Pediatric Surgery and Open Heart Surgery, and one of the few pediatric oncology programs in the area.
  • We're also Central Florida's only pediatric provider for bone marrow transplant, kidney and liver transplants, Gamma Knife services, trilogy radiation and Level IV epilepsy care. But perhaps most exciting of all, is that this is the first-and only-hospital to bear the Disney® name.

The role you'll contribute:

The Neonatal Pediatric Respiratory Therapist - Hybrid is responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating the treatment, care, and needs of an assigned group of patients. Must be able to accept leadership responsibility in the absence of a Lead Therapist/Supervisor/Shift Resource as directed.

The value you'll bring to the team:
  • Performs airway maintenance including: proper use of manual resuscitators, suctioning, extubating, assists with tracheostomy tube insertion, performs trach tube change, oral and nasal pharyngeal airway insertion, LMA insertion, endotracheal intubation, and procedural respiratory support.
  • Performs respiratory therapies and oxygen delivery therapies and makes recommendations to the most efficient delivery method per protocol.
  • Properly utilizes patient assessment skills, protocols, chart review, and conferring with multidisciplinary team to determine efficacy of therapy in a cost and time efficient manner making appropriate recommendations and changes per protocol.
  • Initiates, maintains, transports and monitors mechanical ventilators to include conventional and advanced modes of ventilation per policy and procedure.
  • Practices standard precautions and enforces safety regulations according to hospital policies on a continual basis. Documents and charges for procedures accurately and completely to ensure quality standards set by the department and hospital.


Qualifications
What You Will Need:
  • Associates degree of a Respiratory Therapy or Cardiopulmonary Science program
  • Active and Current Florida State License as Registered Respiratory Therapist
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
  • Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) Certification
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Certification
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification (Preferred)
  • Active Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC)
