Initiates, monitors and weans patients on mechanical ventilation according to established departmental policies.

Uses specialized techniques to obtain and analyze arterial blood; maintains ABG machines and required documentation according to established departmental policies.

Responds to emergency calls, assists in administering CPR, and transports patients according to established departmental policies.

Completes equipment rounds according to established department policies.

QUALIFICATIONS

Associated Degree in Respiratory Therapy or equivalent.1 year work/clinical practice in acute care. BCLS certification. Current registration of New York State Respiratory Therapist License or limited work permit. Valid driver's license and access to motor vehicle, or access to alternate transportation.
