Job Summary:
The Respiratory Therapist is responsible for providing cardiopulmonary care services in accordance with specific physician's orders, department policies and procedures. Experience with ABG machines, Ventilators, Bipap/CPAP, and EKGs. Administer Nebulizer treatments, Incentive Spirometry, MDIs, Ezpap and Oxygen. Perform chest physiotherapy as indicated.

Minimum Qualifications, Education and Experience:

Graduate of an accredited school of Respiratory Therapy.

At least one year of acute care experience required.

License and Certifications:

Current State Respiratory Therapist Licensure (RT)

BLS, ACLS and PALS required.

What you will do (Roles and Responsibilities):

*Performs various methods of oxygen delivery utilizing appropriate equipment.

*Assess the need and effects of oxygen delivery.

*Administers Respiratory therapy treatments by assessing patient, determining.

appropriateness of order and implementing physician order.

*Sets up and monitors mechanical ventilators and the associated critical care duties required for such treatment.

*Assess patient pain to determine if physician or nurse intervention is necessary for

positive patient outcome.

*Performs arterial punctures to obtain arterial blood samples for blood gas analysis and

addresses complications and contraindications associated with the procedure.

*Documents all pertinent data on the patient's medical record following completion of any

service. Documents patient refusal, inability to administer, or missed therapy with

appropriate reasoning.

*Communicates info with Nursing staff for consistent patient care.

*Follows departmental equipment cleaning and/or sterilization procedures.
