DESCRIPTION

This position will be an instructor for UC San Diego Health staff in basic and advanced resuscitation training (BART and ART). The RN will work with resuscitation program staff to ensure training needs of organization are met and competency of staff is evaluated. Work with staff at UC San Diego Simulation Center to provide simulation-based learning.

Use clinical experience to enhance training. Manage registrations in UCLC. Participate in interprofessional review of code blue and rapid response events to improve curriculum and processes to improve patient outcomes. Collaborate with Code Blue Committee and resuscitation program staff to update course curriculum and for quality improvement initiatives. Will work varied hours and locations.

This position is intended to be an additional appointment to a UC San Diego Health RN's current clinical role. Selected candidates will combine a limited appointment in addition to their career appointment, not to exceed 100% total.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Must be a graduate from an accredited school of Nursing.
  • Registered Nurse (RN) issued by the state of California.
  • Current ART certification.
  • Three (3+) or more years of relevant acute care RN experience.
  • Must demonstrate excellent communication skills, both verbally and in writing.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • BSN/MSN.
  • AHA ACLS or BLS instructor experience.
  • Clinical experience in ICU or ED.
  • Two (2+) or more years of Code RN experience.
  • Teaching experience.
  • Certification within specialty area.
  • Demonstrated quality improvement experience.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
  • Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
  • Employment is subject to a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
  • Selected candidate may be hired at the CNIII level based on current UCSD Health clinical nurse classification.
Pay Transparency Act

Annual Full Pay Range: $123,902 - $173,659 (will be prorated if the appointment percentage is less than 100%)

Hourly Equivalent: $59.34 - $83.17

Factors in determining the appropriate compensation for a role include experience, skills, knowledge, abilities, education, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. The Hiring Pay Scale referenced in the job posting is the budgeted salary or hourly range that the University reasonably expects to pay for this position. The Annual Full Pay Range may be broader than what the University anticipates to pay for this position, based on internal equity, budget, and collective bargaining agreements (when applicable).
