As a Retail Assistant Manager, you will:

• Help drive all retail operations and provide safe and inviting atmospheres for all guests, staff, and student workers.

• Provide high-quality customer service to all guests.

• Ensure orders are accurate and meet all University Dining and franchise standards.

• Create an environment that promotes diversity and growth for student workers, staff, and guests.

• Assist in the facilitation of the hiring and training process.

• Complete supply ordering, administrate maintenance schedules, and can assist in daily duties and tasks where needed.

• Help set up and open new venues around campus.

• Learn the various operations and support as needed.

Minimum Required Qualifications
Associate's or equivalent education/experience in food-related, business, or hotel/restaurant management field plus four years of food service management experience in a high-volume commercial or non-commercial dining service operation required. Knowledge of cost controls, inventory controls and food safety/sanitation programs necessary. Must have ability to supervise large quantity food production. Knowledge of personal computers, word processing, spreadsheets, e-mail and internet necessary. Food Handler's permit or ability to obtain by passing the Safety and Sanitation test required. Very flexible and adaptable to emergency and non-emergency situations. Inspires others to be flexible by own actions.
Strong communication skills including excellent listening skill and ability to adapt style of communication to the person and situation.
Strong initiative to try new things and excellent motivational skill to bring our initiative of staff. Innovative with menu, food preparation and service. Seen as an expert in restaurant service operation. Highly knowledgeable in all areas including food, food preparation, equipment, safety and systems. Strong leadership and people development skills. Develops the strengths of employees, encourages employees to overcome weaknesses, and builds teamwork.
Strong problem solving, decision making, planning, organizational, and resource management skills. Must be able to obtain food handlers permit. Must have a valid driver's license and meet University driver eligibility requirement.

Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and management experience in a non-commercial dining service operation desirable.
