The Revenue Cycle Improvement Sr. Analyst partners with the broad Revenue Cycle Business Partner (RCBP) team to support revenue cycle improvement efforts and achieve results on strategic priorities. Sources data from Epic SlicerDicer, Epic Chronicles, Clarity, Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW), Lawson, Workday, and other sources as needed to perform detailed analysis that identifies and informs revenue cycle improvement importunities aimed at increasing revenue, decreasing costs, accelerating cash flow, and improving operational workflow efficiencies.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and Use Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
    • Gathers data for KPIs, supporting dashboards and reports
    • Monitors operational KPIs to identify revenue cycle opportunities and address leading or lagging metrics
    • Partners with customers to research root cause and under the guidance of senior revenue cycle business partner (RCBP) team members, identify appropriate next steps
  • Daily Operations:
    • Works with customers to review system, site, and departmental trends
    • Provides analytical support to identify trends and opportunities
    • Monitors and respond to customer inquiries
    • Assists in meeting coordination and facilitation with multiple stakeholder groups
  • Reporting and Escalation:
    • Shares and distributes key learnings to an enterprise audience
    • Identifies people, process, and technology barriers and reports to senior members of the RCBP team
  • Other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications:

  • 2+ years of experience with Health Care Revenue Cycle operations
  • 2+ years of proven experience with electronic health record (EHR) systems, such as Epic, Cerner, Allscripts, CPSI, MEDITECH, or NextGen
  • Proven experience using Excel at an intermediate level or higher (i.e., VLOOKUPS, Pivot Tables, charts, graphs, etc.)

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certification/proficiency with EHR systems, such as Epic, Cerner, Allscripts, CPSI, MEDITECH, or NextGen
  • LEAN or Six Sigma certification (Green Belt, Black Belt, etc.)
  • 2+ years of experience with reporting and data mining
  • Experience with SQL Server

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
