Overview

The US Oncology Network is looking for a Revenue Cycle Trainer to join our team at Texas Oncology. This remote position will support our Central Business Office location at 3001 East President George Bush Highway. Typical work schedule is Monday-Friday; 8:30am to 5:00pm with at least one day a month working in our Richardson office. Travel will be required about 75% of the time in various locations throught Texas.

What does the position do?

Under general direction, responsible for ongoing development, coordination and facilitation of business systems and revenue cycle training and development. This role also supports testing methodologies for the implementation of new business systems and enhancements to existing business systems. This requires the documentation and processing information in accordance with current policies, procedures, and guidelines. Use audit results and feedback to identify deficiency in test plan, training needs, improve processes, data quality, and operational performance. This role is crucial to Texas Oncology's revenue cycle vision to modernize training to further support employee development and integrate new business systems and technologies. Supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, to include Code of Ethics and Business Standards, and US Oncology's Shared Values.

Responsibilities

The essential duties and responsibilities:
  • Creates and designs comprehensive training programs for new hire trainees with an emphasis on business systems used in practices.
  • Develops mechanisms to test trainee knowledge of material.
  • Distributes, collects, and tracks post training surveys to evaluate overall training materials and presentation skills.
  • Develops, designs, and maintains training documentation, manuals, and training performance.
  • Prepare instructional materials, including course objectives, outlines, background materials, and training aids.
  • Develop and implement evaluation instruments to measure trainee success and course effectiveness.
  • Responsible for monitoring, processing, and documenting onboarding attendance and providing individual feedback.
  • Evaluate and iterate existing onboarding programs and content for impact and alignment with organizational needs.
    Provides support to trainees to help them achieve individual and unit performance standards.
  • Adheres to confidentiality, state, federal, and HIPAA laws and guidelines with regards to patient's records and collections.
  • Other duties as requested or assigned.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate for the position will have the following background and experience:
  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Four (4) years of work experience in a related field or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
  • Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills, both in-person and virtually.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook).
  • Experience successfully utilizing technology to deliver or facilitate training in person and in virtual learning environments.
  • Must successfully complete required onboarding courses and on-demand training within 45 days of occupying position.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field.
  • Prior experience or certification in Training, Learning & Development, Adult Learning Theory, Service Design, or Content Management.
  • Strong understanding of the roles within the organization, the role demands, and the competencies required to support those roles.
    Knowledge of multiple PMS and EHR platforms.
  • Knowledge of medical insurance processes, billing, and collections with CPT, ICD10, and HCPCS coding and medical terminology, as well as an overall understanding of managed care products (HMO, PPO, etc.).

Work Environment:

This is a hybrid position. The work environment may include exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medical preparations, and other conditions common to an oncology/hematology clinic environment. Work will involve in-person and virtual interaction with co-workers and management and/or clients. Work may require minimal travel by air or automobile to office sites.
