Andover, Massachusetts

Employer: Insight Global
Industry: Engineering (Non IT)
Salary: $124400 per year
Job type: Full-Time

Our client is seeking an experienced RF Front-end Module (FEM) design engineer responsible for developing multi-GHz complex RF T/R modules. This includes power and multi-path T/R switches, low noise amplifiers, matching circuitry, filters, SMT components, integrated passive devices (IPD), MIPI controls, and an LDO. The candidate must understand the characteristics of these FEM building blocks in a Multi-chip Module (MCM), trade off their performance, and optimize the FEM performance to meet or exceed customer specifications. Responsibilities also include package/substrate design, floor planning, and working closely with IC designers or building block designers. Lab evaluation and hands-on tuning of prototype hardware are required for design validation.

Responsibilities:
- Lead the module developments with the understanding system requirements and performance trade-offs.
- Work with IC designers to floorplan and co-design the FEM package/MCM substrate and provide the package models to IC designer for design simulations.
- Design passive circuits such as matching circuit, baluns, filters, and direction couplers with MCM FEM package or IC substrates.
- Work with MCM layout designers to fabricate the MCM printed circuit boards and other types of FEM packages.
- Support hardware validations and analyze measurement data for performance optimizations.
- Provide data analysis and generate performance reports to the design community and product development teams.
- Work with cross-functional teams for product development.
