Risk & Compliance is a critical part of Uber's success, working with partners across the business to ensure compliance to regulatory standards, and facilitating completion of short-term processes or optimization of long-term initiatives!

As a Senior Specialist, you will use a standardized process to lead the end-to-end lifecycle of tasks provided by other parts of the Uber business, including the execution of high-risk queues, development and optimization of robust task process maps and documentation, supporting critical issues from across the business, and perform root cause analyses to improve upstream processes.

The Senior Specialist is a methodical but creative problem solver who loves large multi-­partner initiatives that require them to innovate, influence, and think strategically and tactically. The individual must thrive in the type of environment that is ambiguous, fast-paced, and constantly changing. Many of the problems and challenges we face have no textbook solution, so the ability to invent is essential!

What You'll Do

- Develop deep subject matter expertise in your team's workflow.
- Execute regulatory tasks and projects with the highest level of quality, ensuring each case is thoroughly reviewed to mitigate risk to the business.
- Design support logic, implement changes, and prioritize varying tasks supplied by the business of your assigned vertical
- Develop and maintain content for the implementation team to ensure the processes are done quickly and efficiently.
- Represent Uber's business interests/needs to the organization, including calling out resource needs. Leading strong team huddles and operating reviews.
- Work closely with compliance teams to identify areas of vulnerability and design considerations to handle this risk proactively.
- Lead a process or support system to execute daily as well as improve its efficiency.
- Think strategically to drive projects which improve support quality, site calibration & deliver business insight from review results.
- Coordinate with the Program team to turn quality data into learning opportunities.
- Provide white glove customer service to Earners, frontline teams, or partners as needed, which may include things such as investigating ECR critical issues, performing outbound phone calls to remove supply constraints, and/or troubleshooting for frontline teams.

Basic Qualifications

- Minimum one year of Risk, Safety, or Compliance experience
- Experience working in a highly meticulous environment, demonstrating a high degree of diligence and accountability
- Passion for data analysis and the ability to drive quality improvement, process improvement, and tool enhancements
- Experience manipulating and synthesizing data, preferred experience in Google Sheets
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Confident in presenting findings to upper management
- Creative / Proactive in thinking about the bigger picture and how we can improve as a company
- Ability to work cross-functionally with other departments
- High accountability and self-motivated to meet deadlines

Preferred Qualifications

- One year of project or process management experience or work on a project team
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent professional experience
- SQL/Python /Google Apps scripting
- Ability to self-serve, investigate, and get the data required to make quick and effective decisions
- Ability to work effectively with other partners both within the team and outside of it (as needed) to develop strategies to improve compliance process bottom lines.
- Passionate about the opportunity to build and optimize support processes and are willing and able to lead others utilizing those processes
- Strong communication and writing skills with attention to detail, grammar, brand tone, and voice

For Phoenix, AZ-based roles: The base hourly rate amount for this role is USD$20.50 per hour.
