Responsibilities

Cedar Hills Hospital is looking for a Risk Manager to join our Great team of people!

The Risk Manager (RM) has broad responsibility to protect the hospital's assets from loss. The Risk Manager is responsible for coordinating the loss control efforts and advising management and administration on all potential sources of loss and for making recommendations to minimize or eliminate exposure. The structure and functions of the Risk Management Program are designed so as to comply with guidelines and standards of TJC, other regulatory agencies, and the UHS T.E.R.M.© Program. The position works closely with Performance Improvement / Regulatory Compliance staff to ensure identified risk issue are addressed / resolved and that the hospital is in full compliance with regulations and laws.

Cedar Hills Hospital is a 98-bed behavioral health Inpatient Hospital and Outpatient Services program located in Portland, Oregon. Our team of board-certified psychiatrists, internal medicine, family physicians, licensed therapists, and dedicated nursing staff provide individualized, continuum of care treatment in a stigma-free environment for adults aged 18 and over. Services include Crisis Stabilization, Substance Abuse, Military and LGBTQIA+ Programing.

Qualifications

  • Education: Nursing degree or Bachelor's degree in a mental health field.
  • Experience: 1-3 years of experience preferred in a healthcare or behavioral health setting involving nursing, risk management or quality improvement.
  • Training: Successful completion of Handle With Care and Service Excellence training must occur within 90 days of employment. May be required to work weekends and flexible hours.
  • Additional Requirements: Computer skills involving knowledge of Excel spreadsheets, MS Word, PowerPoint, and business / technical writing skills. A strong knowledge of TJC, CMS, Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) and Patient Rights standards.
