Summary

The Research Museums Center (RMC) is home to four UM Museums including the Museum of Anthropological Archaeology, the Herbarium, the Museum of Zoology, and the Museum of Paleontology. These museums are made possible by a dedicated workforce of students, staff, and faculty whose roles require frequent transportation between Central Campus's Biological Sciences Building and the RMC. This newly created position will be dedicated to transporting people and, at times, museum specimens, between these locations in a safe and timely manner. Drivers are expected to have a good working knowledge of campus geography, university buildings/landmarks, and common routes around campus in order to effectively transport passengers to their final destination.

Drivers start at $22.12 an hour. The schedule will be weekdays, 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. The schedule requires working an 8-hour shift with appropriate breaks.

Responsibilities*

• Driving the 7-passenger shuttle van in a safe and efficient manner
• Logging passenger counts for each route
• Able to navigate the Ann Arbor campus safely and effectively
• Ability to work independently
• Interact with customers in a friendly and professional manner
• Demonstrate flexible and creative problem solving

Required Qualifications*

• Must possess, or obtain a Michigan Chauffeur Driver License before hire and have a good driving record.
• Must pass a DOT pre-employment drug screen and DOT physical.
• Must be able to pay attention to details of the trip and rider interactions.
• High School Diploma
• Able to pass a background check

Licensure & Certification

• Must possess, or obtain a Michigan Chauffeur Driver License before hire
• Must possess, or obtain a DOT Medical Certificate before hire
