Position Summary:

1. Performs appropriate nursing history and physical assessment upon admission and on an ongoing basis.

2. Develops an individuated patient care plan, in conjunction with the patient and family, based on the nursing assessment and identified problems.

3. Provides direct nursing care/interventions based on the plan of care and established priorities.

4. Provides patient/family education based on assessed needs.

5. Evaluates and documents the nursing care provide to the patient/family, the response to nursing interventions, related to the stated goals, and overall

effectiveness of the plan of care.

6. Demonstrates knowledge of use and control of medications and administers medication safely.

7. Communicates with all necessary disciplines to ensure assessed needs are addressed.

8. Demonstrated organization skills, ability to delegate tasks appropriately, and work as part of a team. "

Required Qualifications:

Current CA Registered Nurse License, BLS, and ACLS

A. A. S. or higher in Nursing

This position provides professional and technical skills to ensure safety, comfort, personal hygiene and the protection of patients in the provision of patient care. This position performs the nursing process through assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of safe, therapeutic care for patients. Knowledge of dysrhythmias and appropriate interventions. Nurses will demonstrate professional nursing behavior with patients, families, and co-workers.

Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System

Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload

Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties

Preferred Qualifications:

Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms
