Expected Salary Range: Minimum $31.43/hour; Max $43.27/hour; Salary determined based on years of nursing experience.

Cincinnati Children's is seeking a dedicated and experienced Clinical Supervisor to join our Family Connects Program. This vital program offers nurse home visits to new families within selected geographic areas around three weeks after the birth of their baby. The goal is to provide support, answer questions, address concerns, and connect families to essential clinical and community resources.

The Family Connects Program, endorsed by Governor DeWine, aims to support every new mother and family in Ohio by reducing infant mortality and improving overall family health outcomes. The program has demonstrated significant success, including a 44% reduction in child protective services investigations, a 30% decrease in postpartum depression, and a 50% reduction in emergency room visits in regions where it has been implemented.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and supervise a team of nurses providing home visits to new families within the designated zip codes of Hamilton County. .

Ensure high-quality care and support for families, addressing their clinical needs, concerns, and questions.

Collaborate with community partners, including Every Child Succeeds, to connect families with additional resources and support services.

Monitor and evaluate program outcomes, ensuring the delivery of evidence-based practices to improve family health and well-being.

Provide guidance, training, and ongoing support to nursing staff to ensure adherence to best practices and program protocols.

Participate in program development, expansion, and evaluation to meet the needs of approximately 2500 new families served annually.

Maintain accurate and thorough documentation of all visits, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards.

Travel to home visits required, Car and valid driver's license required.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree in nursing (BSN) required; Master's Degree in Nursing (MSN) or related field preferred.

Licensure/Certification: Current Ohio RN license required.

Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of nursing experience, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or leadership role. Experience in maternal-child health, pediatrics, postpartum care or community health nursing is highly desirable.

Skills: Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to manage and support a team effectively. Experience in program management and data-driven decision-making is preferred.

SUBFUNCTION DEFINITION: Coordination of patients and visitors within a unit to ensure operations run efficiently. Positions in this subfunction may monitor or maintain patient or visitor information or bring patients to and from the unit.

REPRESENTATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES

• Coordination

Provide support for maintaining calendars, coordinating meetings, coordinating travel and troubleshooting issues. Participate as department/division representative at meetings, relay relevant information and provide necessary follow up. Serve as point of contact for information concerning activities of the administrative function. Take ownership of issues and concerns communicated to the department/division and provide follow up to bring issues to conclusion. Ensure appropriate operational information regarding the department/division is communicated to appropriate staff. Develop and maintain cooperative relationships with other Cincinnati Children's departments and outside agencies with which the department interacts. Provide oversight for the organization of files and records, the inventory of office supplies, and the processing of requisitions.

• Policies & Practice

Ensures policies and practices are understood and followed by team. May provide changes or recommendations as necessary.

• Personnel Management

Participates in and provides significant input into hiring, promotional, and termination decisions and job status recommendation

• People Planning

Conduct ongoing evaluation and mentoring of direct reports, including effective, clear, and timely annual performance evaluation. Ensure staff is properly trained to perform job functions. Determine and monitor implementation of continuing education goals of the department and provide educational opportunities for department staff. Ensure departmental and Medical Center initiatives, priorities, standards, and policies are effectively communicated and understood by direct and indirect reports.

• Budget

Assist with fiscal responsibilities of the department as requested. Monitor budget expenditures; identify and research variances/problems. Assist in tracking and monitoring revenue, expense, and allocations. Provide applicable reports. Research information for major purchases. May assist with annual budget preparation.

Qualifications:

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE

Required:

• Bachelor's degree in a related field

• 3-5 years of work experience in a related job discipline

• Ohio license of the relevant clinical discipline
