Position Summary:

The Community Health Specialists are hourly clinical staff who will provide support for program activities including but not limited to health fairs, community events and targeted outreach. These staff will provide screening services including taking biometric measurements, implementing screening questionnaires, counseling at-risk individuals and referring eligible participants to evidence-based programs. This position reports to the Journey to Better Health Program Coordinator.

Education/Experience:
  • A Bachelor's Degree in Nursing from an accredited college or university with an interest in behavioral, community or public health.
  • Experience working in a community setting is preferred but not required.
  • Bilingual in Spanish, Korean, or Chinese preferred but not required.


Licensure/Certification:
  • Must maintain current Maryland License as an RN or licensure in a compact state that allows practice in Maryland.
  • Must have valid driver's license, clean driving record, and reliable transportation.
  • This position may spend the majority of the time working in the community, away from the office.
