Essential Functions
Performs plan of care intervention, including medication administration, specimen collection, clinical treatments, as well as other medical care treatment.
Documents patient care given.
Monitors, records, and communicates patient condition as appropriate to care team, physician, patient, and family.
Assists patients with performing activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, elimination, nutrition, and ambulation.
Collaborates as needed across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including patient transfer, discharge, referral and spiritual/psychosocial support needs.
Evaluates learning needs of patient and/or family and provides patient/family education appropriate to age, culture, condition, and circumstances.
Works as an advocate for the physical and emotional well-being of the patient.
Displays initiative and flexibility to float throughout the building as needed to ensure all departments and staff are supported

Minimum EducationX Associate's degree • Preferred X Required
• Bachelor's degree X Preferred • Required
KY nursing license or equivalent • Preferred X RequiredKentucky RN state licensure or compact licensure required
Required SkillsRequires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Certifications:Basic Life Support (BLS)Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) - W/I 30 days of hirePediatric Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (PALS) - w/I 30 days of hireHandle with Care to be received during orientation and kept annuallyTNCC preferredSpecialty Certification testing within 1 year of hire and pass within 1.5 years of hireIncrease in level of Float Pool RN (Level II, III) to be determined by grid completion prior to advancing levels. Additional competencies must be completed based on grid requirements.
Licenses: Valid current Kentucky RN state licensure
Minimum Work Experience1-2 years minimum experience as bedside RN2-4 years critical care experience preferred
