Amedisys is searching for a Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team of incredible healthcare professionals for our Hospice Care Center located in the Florida Keys. As a Hospice Nurse, you will have a special opportunity to provide, coordinate and direct the provision of hospice nursing and palliative care to terminally ill patients in their home and wherever they call home. Our nurses will closely collaborate with the attending physician, patients and their families, and other members of the patient care team to provide and maintain continuity of patient care to achieve excellent pain and symptom management and high-quality end-of-life care for the patient. We service an adult population providing support to patients and families.

Attractive Pay

$80,000-$95,000 * Compensation may vary depending on location, job-related knowledge, skills and experience.

Orientation, Onboarding & Training

You will then continue your on-boarding working directly with nurses in our program. On average our orientation for an R.N is 3-4 weeks, however, is individualized according to your needs and experience.

Responsibilities

• Performs initial nursing assessment on new admissions.
• Completes , coordinates and revises the total plan of care and maintains continuity of patient care by collaborating with appropriate staff.
• Regularly communicates patient progress to the clinical manager, physician and care team.
• Develops, prepares, and maintains individualized patient care progress records with accuracy, timeliness and according to care center policies.
• Records pain/symptom management changes/outcomes as appropriate.
• Educates families on patient condition, needs and care.
• Makes referrals to other hospice care disciplines as needed , or documents rationale for not doing so.
• Performs on-call responsibilities and on-call services to patients/families as assigned.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Current RN license, specific to the state(s) you are assigned to work.
• Three+ years of nursing experience required
• Current CPR certification.
• Valid driver's license, reliable transportation, and liability insurance.
