The Full Time RN OR Circulator provides circulating nurse services in the operating room during outpatient surgical procedures and assists the surgical team to provide top notch patient care within a busy multi-specialty surgery center.

Responsibilities:

• Supervises and directs patient care in the individual operating rooms
• Performs all circulating duties with efficiency
• Ensure patient's emotional, physical and psychological needs are met
• Ensures that proper techniques and practices are used according to accepted standards of practice
• Supervises and assists scrub technician as necessary
• Assists in control and maintenance of supplies and equipment
• Assists the anesthesiologist/CRNA as necessary
• Documents all nursing care delivered in the operating room in the medical record
• Performs other nursing duties as assigned
• Maintains established center/departmental policies and procedures
• Develops and maintains an effective working relationship with patients, families, visitors and other center employees
• Participates in Quality Improvement activities as directed for the continuous improvement of patient care and positive outcomes
• Understands and maintains assigned clinical competencies

Required Skills:
  • Current Florida Nursing License
  • Current CPR, ACLS, and PALS
  • Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
  • Minimum 2 year experience in an ASC/Hospital setting preferred.
  • Ability to recognize, evaluate, solve problems and correct errors.
  • Excellent communication skills with staff, physicians, patients and families.
  • Knowledgeable of policies and procedures specific to the operating room.
  • Clinically proficient in OR nursing skills, demonstrating knowledge of the developmental needs of the pediatric, adolescent, adult and geriatric patients.
