Durango Outpatient Surgery Center is seeking a full time Pre/Post Op Charge RN to join the team!

Monday -Friday No Weekends, No Holidays

PREOP/PACU CHARGE RN - FT Position Responsibilities:

• Provides clinical support/delivery of direct patient care as dictate by departmental/staffing needs.
  • Supervises the Pre Op Pacu staff to provide a daily smooth flow of cases.
  • Assists in coordination of daily case scheduling in the Pre-operative/PACU and PAT area to ensure schedule will flow smoothly.
  • Prepare schedules in the afternoon for next day.
  • Prepares monthly schedules.
  • Communicate effectively with physicians to resolve issues and provide efficiency and smooth case flow.
  • Works closely with Materials to coordinate supplies & instrument needs.
  • Under the direct supervision of the Preop/PACU Manager, assists in the preparation and delivery of annual evaluations
  • Works closely with manager with hiring and orienting Preop/PACU staff members
  • Assists with the onboarding and training of new employees to include nurses and patient care personnel.
  • Helps in revising and preparing policies that relate to Preop/PACU functions
  • Assists with unit education by coordinating and/or giving in-services
  • Assistance in maintaining compliance for Joint Commission surveys
  • Enters company data collections and observations with company EDGE
  • Assistance with staff counseling as necessary
  • Coordinates and assists in Performance Improvement Projects.

Required Skills:

Required Skills:

- Graduate of accredited school or professional nursing.
- Minimum 2 years experience in a perioperative or critical care setting.

Previous experience as a Charge Nurse is strongly preferred.
- Current NEVADA RN License
- BLS, ACLS and PALS required

  • Qualifications: - Independent decision-making skills.
    - Ability to prioritize and handle multiple projects.

- Thorough knowledge of all phases of perioperative process including knowledge of surgical procedures and anesthesia implications.

- Current nursing assessment and patient care skills.
  • Telemetry experience necessary
    - Excellent communication skills with staff, physicians, patients, families and vendors.
