POSITION SUMMARY:
Registered Nurse (RN) PRN key responsibilities include but not limited to: Provide nursing care for psychiatric patients using the nursing process. To assess mental health needs, develop nursing diagnoses, identify outcomes, plan and evaluate nursing care. To administer and/or monitor the effects and side effects of medications and treatments ordered by a physician. To ensure safety and provide milieu management and crisis intervention strategies. Patients served include children, adolescents, and adults (18+) and geriatric (55+).
Qualifications
EDUCATION: Required: Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing, currently licensed to practice by the Texas State Board of Nursing. Preferred: BSN
LICENSURE / CERTIFICATION: Current Texas State Registered Nurse License. Current CPR or BLS certification. Aggressive Behavior Management training within 90 days of hire date. Is deemed a Qualified Mental Health Provider (QMHP)
EXPERIENCE: One year of experience working in a psychiatric inpatient setting (preferred).
WORK HOURS: 12 hour shifts. May be required to work flexible hours and weekends.
