  • Schedule: Clinic is open Monday-Friday, closed on weekends and major holidays.
  • Pay Range*: $56.37/hr - $76.51/hr

Position Summary



The RN, Registered Nurse 10-Hrprovides safe, cost-effective patient care through the health experience, according to established standards utilizing the nursing process, within the scope of practice of Registered Nursing, for Radiology Therapeutic at MemorialCare Long BeachMedical Center.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities of the Job

  • The RN, Registered Nurse provides safe, cost-effective patient care through the health experience, according to established standards utilizing the nursing process, within the scope of practice of Registered Nursing, for the Radiation Oncology at MemorialCare Long Beach Medical Center.
  • Work closely with the Radiation Oncologist and Radiation Oncology team to provide comprehensive cancer care to patients that require radiation treatments or procedures related to Radiation Therapy.
  • Collaborates with all the multidisciplinary centers and clinics in the Todd Cancer Institute.
  • Navigate patient through their radiation treatments and other oncology disciplines that are involved with the patient's cancer care.
  • Schedule and monitors surgical and procedural radiation therapy treatments such as High Dose Rate treatments, rectal spacing, fiducial seed placement and Intraoperative Radiation Therapy.
  • Manage patient flow in the Clinic for Consults and follow up patients. Rooming patients, doing vitals and intakes, and provide radiation therapy-based education to patients and their families.


*Placement in the pay range is based on multiple factors including, but not limited to, relevant years of experience and qualifications. Qualifications

Minimum Requirements



Qualifications/Work Experience:

  • Completion of pre-employment drug screening.
  • Completion of pre-employment criminal background reference check.
  • Completion of pre-employment health evaluation including TB screening and annual or bi-annual reevaluation as indicated by Employee Health.
  • The RN must be able to comply with the every other weekend work commitment (if applicable for this unit) as well as be available to work and be scheduled any day of the week.
  • Ideal candidate will have:
    • 1 year minimum or more of acute Oncology nursing experience.
    • Nursing experience with post-surgical oncology patients and supporting anesthesia patient cases.
    • Proficient experience in using: Microsoft Office, Excel, Outlook, EPIC , and Radiation Specific Charting System (ARIA).


Education/Licensure/Certification:

  • B SN required or experienced RN in an accredited BSN program.
  • Current license to practice as a Registered Nurse in California.
  • BLS via the American Heart Association required.
  • PALS via the American Heart Association highly preferred.
  • Completion of unit orientation and clinical competency validation.
  • Must have a current cancer-specific certification by an accredited certification program or 12 hours of cancer-specific continuing education each calendar year; or must complete 12 cancer-specific CEU hours or have a current cancer-specific certification by an accredited certification program within one year of employment in an oncology unit.
    • A certification is qualified as long as it includes cancer-specific criteria.
    • ONS Chemotherapy Immunotherapy Certification highly preferred.
