To demonstrate empathy and care for patient and families experiencing pregnancy loss, stillbirth, or newborn death. To function as a practitioner, supervisor, educator, and consultant to staff and the community in the delivery of care to grieving families. To complete orientation of new staff for the perinatal
palliative care program. To ensure reporting requirements to the state department of health. To assist with regulatory surveys and audits by the state health department.

Key Duties & Responsibilities
  1. Presents in-service/staff development and outreach programs on perinatal loss and grief as needed by the institution and community.
  2. Plans and schedules regular meetings with neonatal staff and unit managers to provide data and feedback.
  3. Writes and revises policies and procedures guiding the care provided to patients and families experiencing perinatal loss.
  4. Collects statistical data for institution and ADPH.
  5. Remains current on educational opportunities relevant to staff working in perinatal loss areas.
  6. Organizes and facilitates the pregnancy and infant loss support group.
  7. Writes and revises goals and objectives annually.
  8. Prepares annual reports that includes the following:
    -evaluation of objectives
    -summary of program objectives
    -summary of parent support group meetings
    -budget needs
    -in-service/staff development
    -new and revised protocols and forms
  9. Navigates patient care for at-risk for perinatal loss patients.
  10. Navigates the needs of patients/families with perinatal loss.
  11. Ensures regulatory compliance in the physical environment.
  12. Performs other duties as required

Pay Range: $67,070.00 - $108,990.00 / Year

Qualifications

Bachelor's Degree in Nursing or related healthcare field. Ten (10) years of experience required.
