Job Description :
To assist across all services and units by providing nursing care to expedite the discharge process including providing final care needs, discharge education, discharge paperwork, and solving any last-minute care transitions needs. Identify patients clinically appropriate for the discharge lounge and work to ensure all care needs are completed to transition to the discharge lounge. Work in collaboration with the primary nurse, care transitions, and any other department to help expedite the day of discharge process.

Qualifications

5+ years of acute care nursing experience required.

Graduate of an accredited Nursing program required. Bachelor's degree in Nursing preferred. Work experience may NOT substitute for education requirement. Currently licensed or eligible to be licensed as a Registered Nurse (RN) by the Alabama Board of Nursing required. Certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) is required or should be obtained within 30 days of employment. Depending on the unit/department, Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification and/or Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) from the American Heart Association (AHA) may be required.
