Qualifications
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
Education:
- Sign-on bonus: $10,000. Relocation Assistance available.
- Department: Presurgery/Surgery Recovery Room/PACU
- Schedule: Schedule is based on needs of department at time of hire. 9 hours shifts 4 days per week 9am-5:30pm. On call shifts of week night and weekend 12 hour shifts 3-4 times per month.
Holiday call is also required and is part of a department rotation, 1-2 holiday shifts per year 12 hour shifts. - Hospital: Ascension Seton Williamson

Responsibilities
Communicate with patients prior to scheduled surgery to ensure that required patient education and
clinical assessment are accomplished.
- Conduct an in-depth interview with patient to ensure full understanding of the surgical procedure, required preparation, and all other relevant information.
- Review patient's medical history and medications, assess health status, and identify any medical anomalies that may impact planned surgery.
- Initiate consultation with other physicians and/or order additional pre-operative testing, as needed.
- Provide counsel to patient or patient's representative regarding timing, transportation before and after surgery, and planning for in-patient stay as needed.
Licensure / Certification / Registration:
- BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- Registered Nurse credentialed from the Texas Board of Nursing obtained prior to hire date or job transfer date required.
Education:
- Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing OR professional licensure at time of hire required.
