In partnership with the Director of Nursing Practice and Professional Development the Nurse Manager provides expertise in nursing practice and professional development to Clinical Nurse Educators and supports the direct oversight of personnel within the Education Services Department. Under the direct supervision of the Director of Nursing Practice and Professional Development, this position coordinates and oversees activities of the team to ensure effective and efficient delivery of high-quality education and professional development activities.

Responsibilities

• Coordinates and supervises the activities of the clinical nurse educators, unit operations coordinator, and education trainer.

• Organizes and assigns duties and tasks to team members in collaboration with the Director of Nursing Practice & Prof. Development.

• Monitors daily performance of clinical team members to ensure duties are completed accurately, efficiently, and timely.

• Assists with interviews, e.g., new department members, nurse residents, etc.

Qualifications

Education/Experience:
  • Master's degree preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in nursing required
  • 5 years of clinical experience required, preferably in an acute care setting.
  • 2- 3 years of experience as a Clinical Nurse Educator preferred
  • Demonstrated leadership skills as demonstrated by previous experience as a Clinical Nurse Educator.

Skills/Abilities:
  • Computer skills in Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of EMR systems.
  • Knowledge of adult teaching and learning principles
  • Demonstrated ability to teach individuals and groups of learners.
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive interpersonal relationships with patients and professionals of all disciplines.
  • Ability to develop broad concepts into practical applications.

Licenses/Certificates/Registrations
  • Licensed as a Registered Professional Nurse in New York State.
  • BLS certification required.
  • BLS Instructor required.
  • ANCC Board Certification in Nursing Professional Development preferred or within 2 years.
  • Board Certification in assigned service line specialty preferred.

Salary Range
The expected base rate for this Glens Falls, New York, United States-based position is $34.19 to $51.29 per hour. Exact rate is determined on a case-by-case basis commensurate with experience level, as well as education and certifications pertaining to each position which may be above the listed job requirements.
