Position: RN Unit Manager
As an RN Unit Manager at Seagate Rehabilitation and Nursing Center, you will play a vital role in supporting the Director of Nursing (DON) and Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to ensure the highest level of care for our residents. Your leadership will be instrumental in maintaining a compassionate and professional environment for both our residents and staff.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist the DON and ADON in overseeing daily operations of the Nursing Department, ensuring compliance with current regulations and facility guidelines.
  • Ensure that all nursing personnel adhere to their respective job descriptions and responsibilities.
  • Address and resolve any complaints or grievances filed by department personnel, reporting directly to the DON as needed.
  • Lead and manage your assigned unit, fostering a collaborative and supportive environment.
  • Work with the DON to maintain sufficient nursing coverage 24/7, optimizing manpower and minimizing overtime and agency personnel use.
  • Implement progressive counseling processes and recommend disciplinary actions as necessary, in line with facility policies.
  • Provide professional guidance and supervision to both professional and non-professional unit staff.
  • Participate in committee meetings and quality assurance activities, contributing to continuous improvement efforts.
  • Demonstrate and teach nursing skills, ensuring high standards of care for the unit's residents.
  • Oversee the completion of MDS (Minimum Data Set) on the unit.
  • Collaborate on discharge plans with residents, families, and the interdisciplinary team.
  • Prepare reports, review records, and assist with data collection as needed.
  • Participate in staff recruitment, including interviewing and selecting nursing personnel.
  • Ensure residents and their families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere.

Qualifications:
  • Valid RN license in the State of New York.
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a Skilled Nursing Facility.
