A Snapshot of Your Day
As a team member of the rotor dynamics team, you will be engaged in a variety of R&D, order support, test stand support, and RCA activities which will vary from day to day. Specifically, your work will establish and maintain the rules governing the rotor dynamic acceptability of novel turbo compressor designs as well as the correction of any rotor dynamic deficiencies exhibited by existing designs. Your work will also include establishing the functional capabilities of software used to predict rotor dynamic characteristics of our turbo compressor products.

How You'll Make an Impact
Product development for traditional and green energy industries requires constant innovation. You will support by:
  • Enhancing the theoretical basis for rotor dynamic behavior prediction of novel and existing designs to ensure long lasting reliability and safety.
  • Collaborating across subject areas to develop innovative solutions which exhibit acceptable rotor dynamic behavior even in challenging operating regimes.
  • Providing technical guidance and idea development for R&D projects which improve competitiveness of the Siemens Energy compressor products.
What You Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in aerospace or mechanical engineering, master's or PhD preferred.
  • Rotor dynamics major and/or experience in rotor dynamics design and evaluation of industrial turbomachinery.
  • 5-10 years of previous experience with rotating equipment.
  • Experience in both system level and component level rotor dynamic design and analysis for rotating machinery and their components including bearings, squeeze film dampers, labyrinth seals and hole pattern seals. Those with more experience may be considered for a more senior level.
  • Experience in torsional train analysis is a plus, particularly with electric motor driven compressors.

  • Good interpersonal and presentation skills for use in working with customers, Sales, testing teams, Service and other Engineering personnel, as well as desire to establish/maintain credibility among both customers and those in the worldwide technical community.
