Responsibilities

Essential Key Job Responsibilities
  • Assumes responsibility for the Environment of Care (EOC), Life (Fire) Safety (LS)and Emergency Management (EM) programs at assigned facilities
  • Maintains inspection records and findings for EOC, LS and EM programs; provides suggestions for improvement to all programs
  • Leads assigned facilities Safety (EOC) and EM Committees; schedules and leads meetings; maintains appropriate documentation
  • Leads in-house training with leadership and employees about environmental health and safety issues
  • Carries out environmental safety accident investigations on site and produces subsequent reports and recommendations to appropriate leadership
  • Plans practical and effective methods of promoting health and environmental safety and safe working practices
  • Functions as a liaison with regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with regulations
  • Assumes responsibility for personal and professional growth through participation in department meetings, in-service programs and continuing educations programs.

  • Other duties as assigned by management

    Qualifications

    Minimum Qualifications

    Required Education for Staff Job Levels

    Bachelor's Degree in Environmental Safety, Emergency Management, or related field -OR- three years of equivalent experience in the field

    None Required

    Required Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

    Strong knowledge of safety strategies; excellent time management and communication skills; ability to present complex issues in understandable manner; fluent in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
