Safety Coordinator (Lowcountry Area)

The role of the Safety Coordinator is to help minimize the risk of job-related accidents and hazards. Constant coaching and training for employees related to plant operations, job sites hazard mitigation, equipment operations, and driver safety will be the top priority in this position. The Safety Coordinator will also advise and implement policies to promote occupational health and safety awareness to reduce workplace injuries. This position requires an observant and analytical mindset focused on accident prevention. Will need a keen eye for detail and sensitivity for potential dangers and will also spend at least 75% of time in the field. The ideal candidate will need to be authoritative and confident in intervening with unsafe activities or operations whilst able to develop trust and build relationships with employees. Documentation is a key component of this role so basic skills with Microsoft Office products will be necessary. The ability to clearly communicate and build relationships with a variety of positions is required. OSHA certified competent person in trenching and excavation and/or confined space is a plus as well as any additional OSHA certifications. CPR and First Aid Trainer certification is preferred. This position reports directly to the Safety? Director. Salary is determined based on experience.

• On-site for crews
• Behavioral Safety
• Site Awareness
• Equipment Safety
• Asphalt Plants
• Drivers (CDL and non-CDL)
• Shop and Mechanic Safety
• Job Site Inspections
• Accident Investigations and Reporting
• Develop Training Curriculums and Presentations
• Communicate with Insurance Adjusters, Claims Professionals, and injured workers
• Attend appointments with injured workers
• Assist in Handling Damage Claims
• Record Keeping and Documentation
• Weekly Onboarding Program
